Foreign Language Guides

All of our
excursions generally include English-speaking
drivers or driver/guides. Even though we cannot
guarantee foreign language guides for our
excursions, we will make an effort, and are
usually successful, in accommodating requests
for foreign language tours.
Many overseas
operators wish to complement tours arranged
through All Alaska Tours with guides who speak
the language of their foreign guests. All Alaska
Tours specializes in providing experienced
guides who are experts in the natural and
cultural history of their region and who are
fluent in German, Spanish, Italian, or
French. We may also be successful finding
guides who speak other foreign languages. Please
go ahead and let us know what you need!
In certain
ports, a fairly diverse community of foreign
language speakers provides good options for
foreign language guides. In other ports, no or
only very limited resources exist. We usually
are successful in providing foreign language
guides, however, at times extensive research may
be necessary.
Flying in a
guide from another city or port can be a
suitable option.
International
cruise ship passengers are often elderly guests
who wish to thoroughly experience luxurious
travel onboard and also during their shore
excursions. They often do not speak English
fluently and will be delighted to get taken care
of by an experienced professional guide who
speaks their language fluently and is sensitive
to cultural understanding as well.
Due to the limited
availability of experienced foreign-speaking
guides, and due to the short season of
operations, the fee for the services of a
foreign-speaking guide may seem high. However,
such a step-on guide greatly enhances the
experience of our guests! Utilizing a driver and
a separate step-on guide provides for a much
more personal service. International visitors
will not miss out on any information given due
to a lack of English communication skills.
Prices
for foreign
guides are in addition to the regular tour cost.
Fees for meals, gratuity, flights etc. may be in
addition.
