This
fun and interesting tour includes some of
the major highlights that make Nome famous,
providing insight into the goldrush history
of that region as well as traditional
activities such as dog sledding.
Included is a gold
panning demonstration on the beach along
with a historical talk about the gold rush.
Guests will get a chance to pan for gold and
will be able to keep what they find.

A city tour
narrated by a local resident offers an
unique perspective on life in Nome. The
tour includes descriptions of what it is
like to live in Nome during the winter, the
history of the town, information about the
economy and other things unique to living in
such a remote part of Alaska.
A highlight
is a dog mushing demonstration by a
professional dog musher who has completed
the world-famous Iditarod several times. He
will discuss dog mushing in general,
equipment, planning, training, breeding, and
feeding. He will hitch up a team to a four
wheeler and run them through a loop that the
visitors can see him the entire time.
Time is
included for
strolling on
front street to see the local museum, and do
some shopping.
